Water Fuel Systems - Save Fuel by Converting Your Car to Run on Water

Water Fuel Systems - Save Fuel by Converting Your Car to Run on Water

Exhaust System

Not too long ago, Iran has test-fired their missiles as a message to the Western world of their military capability. Iran is also one of the world largest crude oil producers. This show of force has made the world economy nervous thus gasoline prices shoot through the roof. Since our transportation system is fully dependent on fossil fuel, we are at the mercy of global oil speculators. Is there anyway we can break this dependency? One suggestion is to implement the water fuel systems for cars. This article will provide some information on the science behind the water fuel technology.

The idea of using water as fuel it to convert a car to burn hydrogen gas (H2) extracted from water. In first grade science, we learnt that water is made of 2 parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. H2 from water is also known as "Brown gas" and can be generated with electrolysis process. Electrolysis is basically running electricity through electroplates in water. When the circuit is turn on, H2 bubbles are produced.

The hydrogen gas is to be vented into the engine air intake system where it will be mixed with conventional gasoline vapor. The mixture has the potential to produce a bigger explosion thus increasing the engine torque. In theory, when the same amount of fuel is used and achieving a higher engine output, the vehicle is moving further therefore improving its mileage and ultimately saving fuel cost. As an added benefit to the environment, the only by product of this technology is pure water discharged from the exhaust pipe.

In the pass, converting a car to use water fuel system is expensive and can only be done by trained professionals. Fortunately, there were some scientific breakthroughs in the technology and the whole conversion process can be done with less than 0.
